The Marine Genetic Resources Laboratory and the Marine Research Center of the University of Vigo organize the first marine dissemination contest «MARaton: marine research told in 8 minutes«, in which researchers and students will present small communications about their work to an open audience in the Tinta Negra bar (Vigo).
This initiative, funded by «Somos Científicos, sácame de aquí«, aims to promote the need and ability to disseminate their scientific work to a non-expert public and to bring the marine research carried out at the University of Vigo to the citizens in a relaxed and fun way.
Participants should attract the attention of the public in a very short time, as they will have only 8 minutes to present their work and their application to an open audience who will vote the best speaker.
The event will be held on May 7 and 8 of 2019 between 8 pm and 10 pm in the Tinta Negra bar (Rúa Irmandiños, 2 Vigo) and will have prizes (first prize and surprises for the rest of the participants) and certificates of participation.
Registrations open until April 26
To participate in the contest, you must send an email to email@example.com with the subject MARATHON REGISTRATION, in which it is specified the title of the talk, the full name and a contact e-mail.
After the enrollment period, the organization will select participants, presenting the complete program in early May through our websites and social networks.
