CURRENT FUNDED ACTIVITY

NAME:  CIM-ECIMAT (Singular Center of Marine Research)

FUNDING ENTITY: Xunta de Galicia 2017-2020. Consolidation and Structuring of Competitive Research Units in Galicia. Confounded by The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This Singular Research Center is technically maintained by about 24 staff and scientifically supported by 18 research groups working on Marine Sciences  (Biology,  Geochemistry, Physical and Biological Oceanography, Geology, Aquaculture and Genetic Resources). The Center is run by a Director appointed by the University President and is managed by its own Steering Committee. 

 

COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS

NAME: «Digestion and maternal / paternal transfer of microplastic contaminants in Atlantic cod food web (PlastiCod-11503)»

Project in collaboration with the company NOFIMA AS, focused on determining the possible transfer of marine microplastics as well as their metabolic effects during the larval development of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua).

NAME: «Reproductive biology of lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus): a key to successful selective breeding (Cyclobreed-12103)»

Project focused on determining the reproductive and metabolic characteristics of the lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) by analyzing differences of expression of specific gene markers.
